The fabric is lightweight and cool but very densely woven so that mosquitoes can’t bite through it.

No-see-um mesh sleeves and sides allow cooling breezes in but keep biting insects out. The face mesh provides excellent visibility. All our bug shirts are made with no-see-um face mesh, to protect against even the tiniest no-see-ums and sand fleas. The zippered hood can be easily thrown back, and fits over a baseball cap or hard hat.
Wrist closures seal the sleeves against biting insect intrusion. A drawstring at the waist with bow cord lock provides a positive seal at the bottom edge. The entire shirt folds into its own zippered pocket, and travels easily on a belt clip

The Elite Edition: Bug Shirt® have all of the same features as the Original: Bug Shirt® plus these significant design enhancements for superior mosquito protection:

• Zipper at the top edge of the face mesh, with two sliders on it.
• Adjusting cord at the back of the hood
• Ribbed cuff and elastic cord adjusters at the wrist.
• Additional patch pocket with a velcro closing flap on the front of the shirt.
• Improved shape of the sleeve.
• New location for the drawcord lock at the waist.

The Original Bug Shirt® is available in two children’s sizes. They have an adjustable cord at the back of the hood to allow for a variety of head sizes. For added comfort we suggest a baseball cap be worn under hood. It has a double slider zipper at the top of the face mesh, so when a little exposure is needed for snacks or a drink it’s easy to accomodate. 

The small child size is designed for average build kids between about 18 months and 4 or 5 years, and has a knit cuff at the wrist. The large child size is designed for average build kids between the ages of  6 to 9 years, and has an adjustable elastic cord threaded through the fabric wrist band.
